Veronika Lambert

Originally from Germany, Veronika made New Zealand her home in 2007, met her husband and settled on the East Coast in a small seaside town just out of Gisborne.

Here, with the ocean at her doorstep she started painting in late 2021.

She finds inspiration while exploring the New Zealand coastline and local beaches, and enjoys painting them in oil colours, as they allow her to blend and move the paint on the canvas to create the stunning atmospheric effects often experienced at the coast. Her works evoke a sense of peace, serenity and solitude.

"There is something about the sea - it inspires creativity. I am fortunate to live at the beach and wake up with the sun rising over the ocean. It's ever-changing beauty inspires me to pick up the paint brush and create."
