Stuart King
Known locally mostly as a sculptor, but Stuart is really a "creative" in every sense of the word! Some may say "eclectic".
So we have started Stuart in the gallery with a variety of his styles to exhibit how versatile he is. We are so excited to see what's next from him!
Here's his description of himself:
"A fusion of Art practice and Engineering process is the platform from which I am investigating the world around me, utilising art practice as a tool for discovery and engineering processes to facilitate the creating.
I have an interest in life cycles, the experience of ‘being’ and ponder on spiritual and physical connections (and disconnections) to, and in the environment. I reflect in notions of the ‘human condition’ and investigate and reflect on these ideas for my own purposes.
My works are personal reflections through which I endeavor to communicate to others. My intent is not to make statements, but to express thoughts and ideas in order to connect with the viewers’ senses, wonderment or intellect. I have a structured thoughtful approach, but also allow creative flow and intuition lead the way. Exploration, invention, chance and reflection are important elements of my creative process.
I am interested in psychology, philosophy, spirituality, nature and culture, and how art has been used to express, and explore these ideas for thousands of years.
I consider the vocation of ‘Art’ as a mechanism for communicating thoughts, ideas, emotions and experiences. I enjoy the challenge bringing materials to life through the way they are formed, reformed and gestured. I endeavor to give the forms I make a soul and energy that resonate with the viewer and connect with the landscape or environment in some way."
